early
to bed...
So I landed a job on
Monday. It's a sweet little setup. I'm an IT contractor for some
med tech company. I get paid hourly - and quite well I might add.
The drawback is that I don't get benefits and I have to pay my
own taxes. I can deal with that.
Back to the title.
This job is the standard 9-5 job. It's a hefty commute through
town so I have to get up around 7:00am. This means that I usually
go to bed around 11:00pm or midnight.
Now after only ONE
WEEK, my body is so adjusted to this regular schedule that it
can't get out of it. My intention was to drink myself stupid Friday
night and sleep until noon Saturday. Well thanks to my circadian
rhythm, I woke up bright and early at 7:30am.
My advice
to you? Don't get a real job. Save yourself the hassle of getting
up at reasonable times every day. Nothing cool ever happens before
noon anyway. Don't waste your time and gas driving from home to
work and back, simply stay home. You'll be helping the traffic
problem and saving the environment! You can survive without a
job, my roommate has just fine! If you really need money, figure
something else out. A real job isn't worth it my friends.
